Qualifying Ailments

To qualify as a patient in Arizona, a person must have one of the following qualifying conditions:

  • – Cancer
  • – Glaucoma
  • – Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
  • – Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
  • – Hepatitis C
  • – Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • – Crohn’s disease
  • – Agitation of Alzheimer’s disease
  • – A chronic or debilitating disease, medical condition or the treatment that causes:
    1. Cachexia or wasting syndrome;
    2. Severe and chronic pain;
    3. Severe nausea; Seizures, including those characteristic of epilepsy;
    4. Severe or persistent muscle spasms, including those characteristic of multiple sclerosis
